UMCOR- Jamacia
In late October, a category 5 storm Hurricane Melissa hit the Caribbean as one of the most powerful Atlantic storms to make landfall in the region in recorded history.
As families and communities mourn the loss of life and property from Hurricane Melissa in Jamaica, Haiti, Cuba and the Dominican Republic, UMCOR has issued solidarity grants to the Jamaica District, the Haiti District of the Methodist Church in the Caribbean and the Americas (MCCA) and the Dominican Republic. These emergency grants will assist with immediate needs, including food, water, temporary shelter, hygiene kits and over-the-counter medication. Please continue to pray for all those impacted by this devastating disaster as relief efforts continue.
