Mission & Vision

Mission Statement

 
“My Father is glorified by this, that you bear much fruit and become my disciples.” (John 15:8)
 
We will GATHER as children of God to seek God's radical love and transforming power, allowing us to GROW in Christ's image in order to GO and make disciples.
 

Vision Statement

 
The vision of the Monona United Methodist Church is to be a vibrant, fruitful community growing through:
 
Passionate Worship
·         Offering a variety of exciting worship experiences, traditional and contemporary, creatively sharing the message of Christ through artistic expression.
·         Striving for excellence as we meet the spiritual and intellectual needs of our growing multiethnic and intergenerational community.
 
Intentional Faith Development:
·         Providing innovative small group opportunities for meaningful spiritual nourishment.
·         Providing experiences for integrated fellowship and multicultural education.
·         Developing a strong and thriving youth ministry that energizes and inspires our community.
 
Radical Hospitality:
·         Graciously welcoming persons of different ethnic backgrounds, social economic status
or sexual orientation.
·         Inviting all to experience the love of Christ, wherever they may be on their faith journey.
·         Compassionately supporting our community through times of triumph and trouble.
·         Enhancing our facilities to meet the needs of our varied ministry and community programs.
 
Risk-taking Mission
·         Making a positive difference in the lives of others by actively partnering with programs advocating for social justice, reaching the underserved and preserving human dignity.
·         Supporting our Hispanic ministry, by working collaboratively to move their vision forward.
·         Pursuing new opportunities to strengthen the bonds of community -- locally, nationally and internationally.
 
Extravagant Generosity:
·         Equipping members to discern and use their spiritual gifts in their own call to ministry
·         Educating new leaders who work in our church, community and world to lead others to Christ.
·         Generously funding our ministry efforts locally and globally.
·         Committing to being a green community that is a responsible steward of our environment.
