The Road Home

The Road Home is a nonprofit organization that serves homeless families with children in collaboration with local faith communities and organizations. It is committed to the empowerment and long-term success of children and families, to serving each family with dignity and respect and to achieving results in helping families improve their lives. Four times a year, Lake Edge UCC hosts Road Home families. Monona UMC assists by cooking meals, planning activities and staying overnight. Contact the church office (222-1633) for more information on volunteering and upcoming MUMC missions dates.

Volunteers in Mission

Affiliated with the United Methodist Church, Volunteers in Mission (VIM) share their time, talents, and money for a specific project. The experience is one of sharing with others and serving God by serving others. The volunteers go beyond thinking, reading and contributing money to missions. They live, feel, and “DO.” Monona UMC participated in a VIM trip to the Dominican Republic in 2011. Click here to learn more about Volunteers in Mission.

Java Jive

Equal Exchange partners with small farmer co-ops in 15 countries including the United States. Their mission is to create a more just economic system and green food system for the farmers and our planet. EE is a for-profit company but its mission is not to accumulate wealth but to distribute profits. Farmers tell EE they prefer a just, fair trade instead of aid. To support these farmers, the United Methodist Women sell EE products including tea, coffee and chocolate following our morning worship service once a month.
